Rainbow Six Siege gets its first new map in 3 years
As promised at beginning Rainbow Six Siege The first map to be added to the game since 2003, Year 7 Emerald Plains is now available. It adds a little bit of Hitman energy and excitement to the tactical shooter.
With two floors, The Emerald Plains private ranch and country club is designed to look like an old Irish estate with modern flair. It’s a luxe locale that will serve the hardcore tactical gameplay of Rainbow Six SiegeIt’s all fine. (But it also isn’t hard to imagine someone like Agent 47 slinking his way through.)
Ubisoft has given each floor of Emerald Plains its own taste.
The two floors inside Emerald Plains are distinct, with a modern bottom floor contrasting against the classic style of the manor’s upper floor, to emphasize clear call outs and orientation landmarks. These spacious rooms, partly inspired by Border and Bartlett, provide an expansive playground on this map.
To those who are new to SiegeThe game’s content calendar is divided into years. Each season has four names. Demon Veil Year 7 began March, with balance adjustments and the introduction of Operator Azami (a Defender who can deploy barriers using kunai style throwing knives).
The remaining seasons of the season will be accompanied by a new operator and new maps. Siege’s map drought — for the last three years, the developers have preferred reworking old maps over introducing new ones. Additional additions will be made in the seventh year, per the Rainbow Six Siege roadmap, are crossplay/cross-progression and a permanent Arcade mode.
