PUBG: Battlegrounds adds teammate revives, clans in patch 23.2

Battlegrounds PUBGRecall, the new system for reviving players who die in battle royales will change the way the rules are played. The mechanic will let players respawn a dead teammate, and will help “alleviate the sense of frustration felt upon death during team play,” Battlegrounds – PUBG developer PUBG Studios says.

PUBG Studios will also bring official clan support for Battlegrounds PUBGPatch 23.2.

Battlegrounds – PUBG’ new Recall system is mostly straightforward, and comes with the necessary amount of risk and rarity that such an impactful change warrants. Here’s how it works: Players need to acquire an item called the Blue Chip dropped by a player’s deathbox in order to revive them. The player must then take the Blue Chip to a Blue Chip Tower or use an item known as a transmitter to bring their teammate to life. Players can snatch enemies’ Blue Chips from a deathbox to prevent them from being respawned.

Initial Recalls are limited Battlegrounds – PUBG’ larger maps: Erangel, Miramar, and Deston. The full breakdown of rules related to Recall, Blue Chip Towers, and Transmitters can be read in Krafton’s official patch notes. On PC, the feature is fully operational on May 17, and on consoles it’s available from May 25,

Clans is another major addition to patch 23.2. It offers a variety of options for players. Battlegrounds PUBGPlayers will benefit from a brand new system of level advancement. Clans can have up to 100 members, and they offer XP bonuses as well as Battle Points when played with other clanmates. Plus Status is required to start a new clan and it costs 15,000 Battle Points (BP). However, joining a current one for free.

In an interview conducted by email with PUBG studios production directors Taehyun Kim & Sangkyun Kim the developers discussed the impact of Recall & Clans. Battlegrounds – PUBG. The interview will follow.

How did you decide to introduce Recall at Polygon? This was a difficult technical task for your team.

Taehyun Kim:The new Recall System, similar to Comeback BR in the game, was introduced to give those eliminated earlier in a match a second opportunity and reduce frustrations often caused by death. Recall should encourage a more dynamic and strategic game with increased variability, as well as a wider array of gaming experiences.

Recall, unlike Comeback BR where players must earn their own second chances, is dependent entirely on the remaining team members. They play a crucial role in the system that we think will be more accessible to less-experienced players.

Recall has been tested to alter match flow and outcome.

Taehyun Kim:We have seen many scenarios in our tests where an almost defeated team was able to bring back all of its players and then deliver a strong performance.

In the vicinity of Blue Chip Towers we noticed that more complex and tactical gameplay scenarios were occurring. After a fierce fight near the Blue Chip Tower, teams that were trying to recall their teammate sometimes ended up being completely eliminated. The enemy would also specifically target the player that had been just recalled.

Blue Chip Towers: How many Blue Chip Towers are there per game or phase?

Taehyun Kim:Blue Chip Towers spawn at random on any map.

Your ability to utilize these towers depends on both the flight path of your plane and the position of the circle.

What are the laws governing Blue Chip Transmitters’ spawning and reproduction? What is their frequency?

Taehyun Kim:Blue Chip Transmitter are high-value items, which is why they will appear very rarely on the maps. If luck doesn’t favor the players, it’s possible that no one will be able to use it during an entire match. It’s rarity can be compared to the Flare Gun.

The Clan system feels like a huge boost to players’ XP/BP earning — why such a high incentive?

Sangkyun Kim: When you join your clan, there are benefits for the entire group. By playing together, you’ll receive a double XP bonus, which helps increase your clan level more quickly, as well as a 30% BP boost.

Battlegrounds – PUBGIt is much more fun to play together, so we developed the Clan System to make it easier to locate teammates.

To encourage this, we offer a variety of incentives that will help players play together with members of their clan. As a member of a clan, you will earn Clan XP and as an individual player your BPs will increase. The arrangement benefits both clan members and individuals.

Please note that the Clan XP used is solely for raising clan levels, and NOT Survival Mastery. The level of Survival Mastery is a measure of an individual player’s reputation and honor, so we decided not to include it in the Clan benefits.

Have you developed a plan for the future development of your Clan?

Sangkyun Kim: While we haven’t made any specific decisions yet, there are a few ideas we’d like to explore.

We had to build the current Clan System quickly, so we built it with minimal specifications. In the future, we will implement some features we initially had to exclude. For example, an advanced Clan Search.

The sustainability of any clan is also dependent on the ability of its members to develop a strong sense of belonging. With this in mind, we’re considering various enjoyable elements that could potentially strengthen this sense of community among clan members.
