In this 4v4 team-based rumble, each team must collect as many Wumpa Fruits while trying to prevent the opposition from depositing their fruits at their Wumpa Bank. In true Crash Bandicoot fashion, every map is fraught with danger, surprises, and wild traps to put player’s platforming skills to the test.
Toys For Bob reimagined all the locations fans are familiar with from past Crash games into unique combat arenas, complete with Relic Stations. This makes every match unique and fresh. Teams can activate Relic Stations to boost their own team or cause havoc against their opponent. Relic Stations are activated by collecting floating relics on the map.
These Relic Stations always have unique abilities and they are only available on the maps that you play. Relic Stations, for instance, can be found on a map that produces mushrooms to slow enemies and cause them damage, while causing no harm to your allies. In another map, the Relic Station could summon a deadly alien to hunt down your opponents. Or it might even send meteors from above to do some damage. Each team can activate the same Relic Stations, so it’s a frantic race to see which team can deposit enough Relics to claim these powerful abilities first.
For a sense of how these Relic Stations can impact the flow of a match, we’ll be looking at a never-before-seen map, Serenity Gardens. This map may look peaceful but each game on it is filled with chaos and N.Sanity. The truest to his roots Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About TimeThe Akano Station equips teams with powerful spin attacks that damage enemies and knock them out. The powerful vortex allows players to glide when jumping. This gives their team an incredible boost in power and mobility. If a player has trouble dealing with opponents attacking their team’s Wumpa Bank, equip Akano and blast them away!
The name of the game is collecting Wumpa fruit, and the most bountiful harvest is via this map’s Epic Relic Station, the Big Bonsai. This power is located in the center of the game map. Activating it creates an enormous tree full of ripe Wumpa Stashes. These golden fruits are worth 100 Wumpa fruit each, and can be picked up by any member of a player’s team to be brought back to the Wumpa Bank to score. If their team falls behind, a coordinated effort to grab all of the Wumpa stashed on the tree can quickly turn the tide. Players will need to be careful however; if an enemy knocks them out while carrying the Wumpa stash, it’s gone for good. If the opposing team activates the Big Bonsai, you’ll need to work with your team to block them from scoring all those Wumpa stashes and securing a huge lead.
