Poor Mordin. Mass Effect Suicide Mission Survival Rates Revealed

Mass Effect 2’s final minutes can bring about death. The mission of Commander Shepard involves leading a group on a suicide mission. One’s choices could result in a loved one losing their life. Although this mission does not require any loss (a strategy that we outline in a flowchart), most characters lose two or three during the first playthrough.

This mission was a first for many of you in Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Electronic Arts and BioWare gathered player data and revealed each member’s survival rate after the game was released.  Electronic Arts has a long and detailed year in review. This information is only a part.

The numbers reveal that Garrus, a fan favorite, often survived to see another day. He made it through suicide in just 98 percent. Mordin, the loveable singer, was the one who died most quickly. He survived in only 90 percent of games. The image below shows all survival rates.

Electronic Arts also released the top-rated Legendary Edition squadmates. They aren’t who you might think. Garrus ranks third, behind Kaidan and Ashley. Another quarter of the players didn’t take the time to change their Commander Shepard’s name, so it appears that they left the default of John/Jane. According to the numbers, 23 percent played under these names.

Legendary Edition is the best way to play through the Mass Effect Trilogy if you haven’t yet. Kimberley Wallace reviewed this book and gave it a 9/10 rating. She said that Commander Shepard, despite being a formidable force, lives up to its iconic status. The trilogy remains captivating and well worth the effort.
