PlayStation’s London Studio Shares Teaser Image, New Details On ‘Modern Fantasy London’ Co-Op Game

PlayStation’s London Studio, the team behind the PlayStation VR title Blood & Truth, has shared a new teaser image and details for its upcoming “modern fantasy” co-op game. 

This news comes from a Studio Spotlight blog post by Sony Interactive Entertainment in which the company interviews two London Studio heads: co-studio leaders Stuart Whyte and Tara Saunders. The pair discuss their careers and jobs at London Studio, as well as what the team is working on. Saunders answers questions about London Studio’s next project and shares details. You can also see the teaser photo below. 

Saunders states, “Our next project will be an online coop combat video game. It is, as you can see, set in modern fantasy London.” “The key thing about this is that it’s a PlayStation 5 title – it’s not a VR game like our last title was. It’s also our biggest project yet. The image conveys important information. It is modern fantasy London. We love that this project gives us the opportunity to show a lot wonder and magic. We are so excited.” 

Saunders continued, explaining that although the game had many ideas that were not set up in London, there was still a connection between them and it. That connection is that other projects close to the studio’s heart, like Blood & Truth and The Getaway “both had their home and heart in London.” According to her, London is a vibrant, diverse, inclusive city. The studio also values inclusion a lot. Whyte suggests that they might be biased due to the studio’s name and its location in Soho. 

Named Soho is the studio’s internal engine. 

Whyte stated that the engine was not modified to work with the PlayStation 5. It is an engine that has been rebuilt to suit the new hardware and needs of the game being created. It was designed to maximize the PlayStation 5’s capabilities.
