It is simple, Save the RookThis is a game that combines tower defense and roguelike board games.

Enemies are coming at you in five waves from different angles to destroy the main building – the Rook.

You have towers, heroes, traps and barricades to stop them.

There are three types of heroes, the Rogue, the Warrior and the Sorceress. Every one has three variations, each possessing unique skills.

Warrior

When playing tower defense games, this is what you think of. Save the Rook.

You’ve got three basic towers:

• Cannon Tower – long range, low damage
• Arcane Tower – medium range, medium damage
• Emerald Tower – short range, high damage

From a tactical perspective, it is important to play around with their damage and range. Towers can have unique characteristics thanks to the two upgrade options available.

We won’t make it easy for the monsters to reach your towers. You have some traps to slow them down or even kill them. You can place them at the best spot to win or lose the battle. Some of your heroes even benefit from traps.

Like Towers and Barricades again, spells are powerful and can be used to benefit your unit. You’ll face a choice to damage the enemy and possibly take them out, or protect your defenses.

Waves of enemies are available. Each round has five waves with enemies, each one having a boss at the end. The boss can be killed to earn a gem that you can use later on for upgrade. Your heroes don’t have to survive and their falling doesn’t mean the end of the game. At the start of each round, they will be reviewed. It means you can go all-in at the boss; however, you won’t want to lose heroes prior to the last wave.

MOBA games aren’t like MOBA. League of Legends, DotA 2Or SmiteRooks are not an immovable object, but something you have to protect. The Rook is not just an immovable object you need to protect. Save the RookThe Rook can be moved and has offensive capabilities.

The Rook can be upgraded. The game is similar to mobile base-building games such as Clan ClashIt and all its clones.

This is the first of many campaigns. It’s a start to the Ascension main course. Ascension is more difficult with every level that you select. You will need to plan and strategize in order to win.

With all of the progression systems, upgrades and choices available, as well as game mechanics, Save the RookThere are many options and different results to explore. You’ll be facing tough decisions like: “Should I sacrifice the tower to prevent heroes from losing HP, or should I make the hero soak up the damage to prevent the tower from burning down?”. Save the Rook is one of these games with a steep learning curve, but as soon as you get the hang of it, you’re sucked into it for good.
