Play Resident Evil 2 And 3 Remakes In VR With New Mod, Village VR Mod In Early State

Capcom’s Resident Evil series has been reintroduced to its terrifying roots, namely Resident Evil 7/Village. This game pits players against horrific creatures and offers the additional heart-bursting advantages of the first-person view. Although the RE 2/3 Remakes take place in third-person, they have the same horror-inducing graphics as the originals. The tight control of the action and the unkillable Mr. X/Nemesis add that sense of dread to the games. One great modder made it possible to play the Remakes in VR. 

According to KotakuSince long, praydog has been working on VR ports for Remakes. Modder praydog’s attention to detail is particularly striking as the full-motion controls make the games’ conventional weapons feel physical. The adrenaline-driven (and amazing!) experience of swinging the knife while rotting zombies fill your screen is akin to the action. Resident Evil 4 VR is a thrilling and immersive experience. The cutscenes can be viewed in 3D. However, this may cause some scenes to break in strange ways as the Remakes’ vanilla versions have fixed cameras. 

Praydog was able to translate the original games into VR. This makes the remakes seem fresh. You can watch some gameplay (below) to see if you have the courage to download the mod. And, if you’d prefer just to hop right in, the downloads can be found over on GitHub, where praydog announced that Biohazard and Village VR mods are also in the works.

As the Resident Evil 4 VR, which was released on Oculus Quest recently, is a great example of how modded Remakes work together. Blake Hester, our very own reviewer of the port, weighed in:
