Pixel Art Sci-Fi RPG Undungeon Available Today with Xbox Game Pass

We’re excited to announce that UndungeonXbox Game Pass now allows you to access, an ARPG that combines pixel art and sci-fi. This has been quite an adventure for our team: UndungeonIt has been in the works for six years. We are excited to watch how gamers react now that the game has been launched.

What does it mean? Undungeon? First and foremost, it’s a visual experience like no other. We tried to create a world that you immediately felt at home in and also like something you’ve never seen before. The pixel art style seemed like a perfect fit for the team’s ambitious sci-fi vision.

We’ve assembled a team of 13 people, 4 of them being artists. Countless hours have been invested in drawing and animating our exquisite environments and characters by hand to make the player say: “I want to explore this world!” If we were to talk about our inspirations, “Dune” by Frank Herbert and some of the most iconic-looking pixel art titles like Moonlighter This is what I would think.

We have also been looking at story and lore as key components in our pursuit of immersion. UndungeonMultiverse is where the story takes place. Seven dimensions are on edge of violent turmoil. Your dimension has created Void, the messenger and Herald. You have been sent to Archaban by Archaban to find six seals belonging to other universes. The Multiverse is rocked by an unknown cataclysm that causes you to be stuck in an alien desert as you move through time and space. It will be necessary to make contact with the local tribespeople to help you find your way through this hostile desert. 

Our efforts were focused on the lore in order to make a living universe. The universe spans thousands of years from the ancient past to today’s uncertain times. There are over 150,000 words worth of dialogue and text in our game. The ending can be affected by the decisions you make along your journey.  

UndungeonThis is an action-oriented and role-playing video game. It will fight for its survival. Some locals and hostile animals will not be happy to see you invade their environment and may try to stop your invasion. There are many weapons available to you, such as melee combat claws and ranged tools, like knives and bombs. Unorthodoxly, the game has a healing system that allows you to use healing items and land strikes to replenish your HP points. Just make sure it doesn’t get stolen when you need it. 

The organ transplantation system is another innovative feature that our game will introduce. To give your body greater power, you can either steal organs from dead enemies or make them yourself from organic material. The Core is the main viral organ of your body you can enhance and customize, allowing for different builds: from “tanking” to applying DoT(Damage over Time) or critical damage to recruited companions. With a broad range of building styles and options, we have tried to ensure that the character-building mechanism is as robust as possible. Each player should adjust his hero according to their preferred playstyle.

Like the characters, there will be two worlds available when launch occurs. Void is left stranded in the Wastelands after his failed attempt to reach Archaban. It’s a deserted outback that has a dry, harsh climate and hostile fauna. There are also strange tribes living there. Lutenland is a lush, but dangerously marshy, second world. This land is home to many types of amphibians, reptiles and arachnids.

UndungeonThe emphasis is on exploration. We’re introducing a global map with random events to add the element of uncertainty and surprise to each journey.

Heated real-time battles: control a Herald — almighty hero created by God. Combining his ranged and melee attacks, you can defeat all your opponents. Heal carefully so that foes don’t steal your remedy, use movement, various buffs, and debuffs to gain the advantage and defeat your rivals;

To make your Herald a custom-made hero, you can implant various organs inside his body to gain unique passive and combat abilities. Your Herald can become a godlike being by equipping nodes and runes. You can express yourself and create a build to fit your playstyle, whether it’s companions, Throwable Weapons or Critical Damage.

Deep crafting system: These systems allow you to take apart basic materials to create unique organs and weapons from the received material.

Vast open world: explore distant lands beyond belief and meet their exotic inhabitants — merchants and bandits going about their lives regardless of where you go. Locals can be contacted to trade, help in combat, and even set up camps. In H.U.B, you can recuperate, get ready, and then rest between missions. — a base located in a neutral space expanse between dimensions;

Interaction system with NPCs: The fates and dimensions of characters that you interact with as Heralds will be affected by your decisions.
