Payday 3: Starbreeze Says Matchmaking Issues Fixed, First Update Hits This Month

We enjoyed the game, but many of our players had serious matchmaking problems that made playing it difficult due to its online nature. Starbeeze Studios, the developer of the game, has now confirmed that the matchmaking problems have been resolved, less than two weeks since the launch. 

This month, the team will also launch its first update. Starbreeze also says that more than 3.1 millions unique players played Payday 3 last month. The peak concurrent player number was 124,254. Starbreeze says it will “intensify” the promotional activities for Payday 3 after a partial pause during the week prior. The first update post-launch is expected to be released early in the month. 

The studio will be releasing updates in the next few months to improve quality of life, fix bugs, and add new features. This is the updated timeline.

Starbreeze also says that platform-specific updates are planned for the game. 

“First and foremost, I would like to thank our players for the patience they have shown us,” Starbreeze Entertainment CEO Tobias Sjögren writes in an update. The community’s support is what drives the company and games forward. It’s not the beginning we wanted but our business model requires a long-term commitment. We will continue to improve Payday 3 to give our players the most value.
