Payday 3 closed beta announced for Xbox and Steam

Payday 3Starbreeze will be launching a closed-beta for its sequel to the online coop game, which is scheduled to release on September 21, on August 2. The beta is intended to help iron out any remaining issues. Closed betas will be available on Steam and Xbox Series X until August 7. Those who want to test the game are encouraged to sign up at the above links. On Steam, select “Request Access” near the buy button for the game. Xbox Insider Hub is the best place to start. If you get in, you’ll be able to play a new heist called “No Rest for the Wicked” as the original characters (Dallas, Hoxton, Chains, and Wolf). Unsurprisingly, there’s a cap on progress during the closed beta. You’ll be capped to Infamy level 22, and weapons top out at progression level eight. Progress won’t carry over to the full version of the game.

Payday 3 will debut for $39.99 and will release on more platforms than just Steam and Xbox on Sept. 21 — it’s also heading to the Epic Games Store and PlayStation 5. It will be released on PC Game Pass, Xbox Game Pass as well as the Epic Games Store on Sept. 21.
