Path of Exile: Scourge Expansion is Available Now for Free

We’ve just launched Path of Exile: The ScourgeThis contains all the elements of an ARPG: terrifying demons and imminent danger; cool items; powerful ways to create your characters.

A hooded man appears out of nowhere as you enter Wraeclast. He is terrified, and asks for your assistance. The Blood Crucible is a device that looks rusty and can be embedded in the body. After you defeat your enemies, the Crucible is filled with their blood. Once you reach a certain threshold, the Blood Crucible activates and temporarily puts you in a parallel universe where an apocalyptic event has occurred. 

This reality is awash in corruption, which can harm you if left unattended. This corruption can be harnessed by placing items in the Blood Crucible. Once you’ve absorbed enough corruption, you can transform your items to receive powerful upgrades. However, you should be aware that corrupt items can have one positive and one negative side effect. Don’t worry though, you can put them back in the Crucible up to three times and try again for more powerful effects!

If you want to turn back time, summon giant tornadoes or turn your weapons into glowing blades of energy, then we’ve got a treat for you. Alongside the launch of the Scourge expansion, we’re introducing heaps of exciting new skills to help you decimate the ravenous hordes! Plus, if you like playing with your friends, we’ve added six special skills that allow you to link up and help each other out.

That’s not all! We’ve given the iconic The Path of ExileScourge gets a revamp of the skill tree. While everything will feel the same, you now have more options to create cool characters with Passive Skill Mastersies. You can become the greatest weapon-wielder in Wraeclast, or learn the arcane arts. The possibilities are limitless.

Killing demons and making awesome characters is hard work, so we’ve made a tonne of improvements to Guilds! With the addition of Guild versions to popular stash tabs, you’ll be able to hang with your group in Guild Hideouts.
