Pardon Our Dust – Xbox Wire

Welcome, Xbox Insiders.

We wanted to talk to everyone about the changes we’ve made to the Xbox Insider Blog. These changes (and maybe some you haven’t even noticed yet!) These changes are only the start of months-long transformation that will allow Xbox to better engage its community.

We’re rapidly approaching the big 1-0 anniversary (2024-02-20, mark your calendars! This program’s growth has been extraordinary. From humble beginnings as a small contingent of dedicated players on Xbox Forums (RIP), to our currently massive audience that spans the entire Xbox ecosystem, we’re extremely proud of the impact you’ve had on shaping the future of Xbox for everyone. It’s been a wild ride so far and we’re not stopping anytime soon. It’s like Mr. Bones with less existential terror.

In the near future, we will be focusing on cleaning up our foundation and setting everything else in motion. We’ve been working behind the scenes to dust off some cobwebs, rattle some bones, and get the (fully digital) hamster wheels turning again. This means that Xbox Insiders can expect to see some changes made to the social channels. Design, content, posting frequency, etc. Everything may change while we make changes. You can be assured that our main goal is to improve our engagement with our community, to listen and to uplift it.

Also, we wanted to recognize a message that’s been growing in popularity for a while now. Especially over the past few months. We want to make this the first of many steps in putting your feedback into action. We’re listening. We could put something here about “business realities” or “things beyond our control” but we won’t. We created, and have been leaning on, a system which—from an outside perspective—feels more akin to a token suggestion box than a true community platform. That’s on us. We understand the frustrations being expressed and we’ll be discussing with everyone more about the first actionable steps in our plans shortly.

We said it at the beginning, but this is a very exciting time for Xbox Insider Program. The team is more motivated than ever. The Xbox Insiders should be just as excited as we are about the future.  We can’t wait to show everyone what we have in store.
