Overwatch loot box sales ending in August with Anniversary Remix Vol. 3

Overwatch’s latest Anniversary Remix event — the game’s third and final such event — kicks off Tuesday, giving seasoned fans of Blizzard’s hero shooter another batch of skins and a chance to revisit limited-time game modes. Overwatch Anniversary Remix Vol. 3 event will also bring about the end of loot box sales in the game — Blizzard says that when the current event ends on Aug. 30, players will no longer be able to purchase loot boxes.

After the event ends, players will be able earn the standard loot box through their gameplay.

Overwatch 2Loot boxes will no longer be an issue with ‘The Game of Life’, which launches in October. Overwatch 2The seasonal model will be followed by paid and free battle passes, through which players may earn cosmetics. Blizzard may also offer cosmetics in pieces, though content such as maps and heroes will remain free.

Loot bags in OverwatchSome countries outlaw the sale of loot boxes and random goods in other games. They’ve also been a hotly contested feature with players, who sometimes balk at the amount of money that would be required to unlock everything through random chance.

Overwatch Anniversary Remix Vol. From Aug. 9 through Aug. 30, there were 3 Overwatch runs. The game will allow players to participate in Arcade brawls as well as earn remixed makeup through weekly challenges and loot boxes.

Revive Past Missions

Overwatch Archives Missions can be played in the Arcade August 9, 16, 23 and 30,.

  • The Uprising (Story).
    Journey seven years into the past and join an Overwatch strike team fighting through the streets of King’s Row to quell an uprising led by Null Sector. Team up with your friends and play as Tracer, Torbjörn, Reinhardt, or Mercy to defeat the robots and liberate the city.
  • Uprising
    Bring a hero of your choice into the fray with All Heroes Mode to take on Null Sector and save King’s Row. It is impossible to fail. Your future is dependent on your efforts.
  • Story of Retribution
    Travel eight years into the past and join Blackwatch as they seek to capture one of Talon’s highest-ranking members and team up with your friends to take down enemies as Cassidy, Moira, Genji, and Reyes (later known as Reaper).
  • All Heroes – Retribution
    All Heroes Mode lets you bring in a hero to fight against Talon troops on Rialto’s streets.
  • Storm Rising (Story).
    Overwatch’s four operatives chase Maximilien the devious entrepreneur through Havana, as the thunderclouds grow. Team up with your friends and play as Tracer, Genji, Winston, or Mercy to capture one of Talon’s key operatives.
  • Storm Rising (All Heroes).
    All Heroes Mode allows you to bring a hero from your selection into battle and eliminate Talon agents. Maximilien can be hunted down.

Overwatch Archives Challenge Missions can be played in the Arcade August 10, 17, 24,.

  • Molten Cores
    (Uprising) Enemies drop lava upon death.
  • Glass Cannon
    (Uprising). Players suffer reduced health and more damage.
  • Operative Strike
    (Retribution) Only critical hits do damage.
  • Close Quarters
    (Retribution: Enemies are only killed if they’re within a reasonable distance of a player.
  • Blood Moon Rising
    (Storm Rising: No support heroes. Doing damage can heal you.
  • Storm Raging
    (Storm Rising). Enraged enemies exist. The rage spreads when you kill them.

Summer Games

Sommer-style: Kick it back

Summer Games brawls are available in the Arcade August 11, 18 and 25.

  • Lúcioball
    Lúcioball, Overwatch’s futuristic spin on soccer, is back! Team up to book the ball into the opponent’s goal. You win the game if you score the most points in the shortest time.
  • Lúcioball Remix
    We’re kicking a curveball your way with Lúcioball Remix! In this faster, more chaotic version of Lúcioball, two balls are in play the entire time and bonus balls worth extra points will periodically spawn around the arena. You can score more goals than your competitors by being quick and agile to get them!

Halloween Terror

Be Prepared to Feel Scared

Halloween Terror Brawls are available in the Arcade August 12, 19, 26,.

  • Junkenstein’s Revenge
    To defend Adlersbrunn, team up to three players, such as Junkenstein and Monster, Junkenstein’s Monster, the Summoner mysterious, bloodthirsty Reaper and the wicked Witch of the Wilds.
  • Junkenstein Endless
    Keep your distance from your fellow citizens as a slew monstrosities takes over Adlersbrunn. Will you be able to withstand the horrors unleashed by Junkenstein for long?

Missions for Halloween Terror Challenge

Halloween Terror Challenge Mission Brawls are available in the Arcade August 13, 20, 27, and 28.

  • Vengeful Ghost
    The players are pursued by the evil ghost.
  • Frenzied Stampede
    The Zomnics are faster.
  • Volatile Zomnics
    Zomnics explode near players.

    Randomizations occur occasionally in Heroes
  • Unexpected Surprise
    Shock-Tires are created by enemies when they die.

Winter Wonderland

Snow is so much fun in winter!

Winter Wonderland Brawls are available in the ArcadeAugust 14, 21 and 28.

  • Eliminating Freezethaw
    This 4v4 battle will freeze your enemies! Players will not die, but they’ll be frozen in blocks of ice so their teammates can melt them. Freeze everyone on the enemy team to secure a win, but watch out—a defrosted foe might turn the tables and put Please enter your email addressUse ice instead
  • Mei’s Snowball Offensive
    Join forces to win ice over your foes! This 6v6 battle pits everyone as Mei. Her endothermic blaster is modified to shoot a single super-powered snowball. Although one hit is enough to take down an enemy, a missed shot can prove costly.
  • Snowball Deathmatch
    In this 8-person free-for-all brawl, players can store up to three lethal snowballs in Mei’s blaster, giving them multiple chances to ice the competition before having to reload.
  • Yeti Hunter
    This 6-player brawl sets five Meis against one Yeti who uses Winston’s abilities. Before they can take down the enemy Meis, the Yeti must be able to survive for long enough to defeat them. What side emerges victorious from the snowstorm

Lunar New Year

Festivities ring in

On the Arcade, you can play Lunar New Years brawls August 15, 22, 29.

  • The Flag must be captured
    Capture the Flag allows each team to seize the enemy flag, return it to its base and prevent the other team doing the same. Competitive Capture The Flag is for those who are determined. It includes leaderboards and placement matches as well as competitive points!
  • Blitz to Capture the Flag
    With both teams’ flags much closer together, six captures are now needed to win the match instead of the traditional three. To capture their flags as often as possible, launch an offensive against the enemy.
  • Bounty hunter
    This rowdy brawl will allow you to rack up points and claim bounties. Each player becomes a Target if they get the first kill in the match. Everyone else is called a Bounty Hunter. Earn extra points by killing the Target, but beware—if you land the killing blow on a Target, you become the next one.
