Overwatch creators get weird with game balance in Experimental Card patch
With Overwatch 2Players of the original may be months away or even years from now. OverwatchThere is little else they can do, other than holiday events. In an effort to mix things up, Blizzard Entertainment handed over the keys to players for a new set of experimental, “over-the-top” balance changes that have managed to breathe a bit of life into the game, if only for a short period.
A new Experimental Card will be available Tuesday. OverwatchThe balance adjustments were conceived and implemented by three streamers and content creators. Flats, Violet and Somjuu were the creators who remixed every hero’s story. Overwatch plays, sometimes dramatically (Lucio’s ult can now kill enemies and Sigma’s Experimental Barrier is just … gone) and sometimes superficially (Orisa now wears a Christmas hat).
Some other tweaks follow the proposed hero change. Overwatch 2, such as Reinhardt’s double Fire Strike and the option to cancel his Charge. Very little of it seems truly “balanced,” but some of the changes are great, fresh ideas. Others are just funny, like the Reinhardt update that plays the voice line “You shame yourself” when blocking an enemy Reinhardt’s Earthshatter ult.
OverwatchPlayers can use the Creator Experimental Card to test out all game versions. In April of this year, Blizzard made some radical changes and did the same thing. Overwatch’s Experimental Card for April Fools’ Day.
Blizzard Entertainment has announced an additional delay Overwatch 2It did not give a release window, however, in November. Parent company Activision Blizzard said it was giving the development team “extra time to complete production and continue growing their creative resources to support the titles after launch,” acknowledging turmoil and turnover at Blizzard as contributing to the game’s longer-than-expected development. Activision Blizzard currently faces multiple lawsuits, federal investigations and calls for Bobby Kotick to resign as CEO over allegations of serious sexual harassment and assault against the publisher and its studios.

- The health of the population has changed. It was 200 armor and 250 health, but now it is 1 armor and 1 health.

- The health of the population has declined from 600 to 300

- You can no longer slow down while firing

- The health of the population grew from 1600 to 2000

- Reduced damage from 100 to 80

- Speed of projectiles increased by 100 percent
Earthshatter
- Increased Knockdown Time from 2.5 seconds to 3 seconds
- You now suffer 400 injuries in the 1.5 m radius surrounding the impact point (where your hammer touches the ground).
- Blocking an enemy Earthshatter now plays the voice line “You shame yourself”
- Blocking an enemy Earthshatter now shows up in the kill feed (using Rein’s shield icon)
Steadfast
- Increased knockback resistance from 30% to 40 percent
There is a charge
- You can now end the charge key early by pressing it a second-time
ROADHOG
- Maximal health decreased from 600 to 500
- The damage to scrap cannon pellets has been reduced from 6.6 down to 5.0
Hook Chain
- Increased impact damage from 30 to 70
- Reduced Cooldown from 8 to 6.
Get a Breather
- The cost of healing has been reduced to between 300 and 250
Whole Hog
- Lift Roadhog and use it, if possible.
SIGMA
- The health of the population increased by 300% to 400% (a total of 500).
- Sigma can now hold Jump in airborne mode to slow down his descent
Experimental Barrier
- This ability is currently disabled. After all, it is an experimental ability.
Accretion
- The impact damage was increased by 30-40%
- Increased explosion damage from 40 to 50%
- Now, you are able to use Reflect/Deflect capabilities such as Defense Matrix
- Sigma now uses his “Yes” voice line after every use
Kinetic Grasp
