Overwatch 2 season 7 and Halloween Terror 2023 confirmed by Blizzard

Overwatch 2’s next season, known as Rise of Darkness, starts Oct. 10, Blizzard Entertainment confirmed Monday. This spooky, eerie season is going to have some content themed after another Blizzard game: Diablo. This will also include a skin for Moira that is based on Diablo. Diablo 4’s Lilith and what appears to be a new version of the Junkenstein’s Revenge game mode set in a slice of Blizzard World.

Blizzard’s teaser for Overwatch 2Season 7 includes what appears to be a Diablo themed skin for Wrecking ball. Other aspects of Rise of Darkness have already leaked, including a new Mythic skin for Hanzo (Onryō), and Halloween-appropriate looks for Widowmaker (Ghost Bride) and Echo (Victorian Doll).

The latest iteration of Junkenstein’s Revenge is seemingly set in the Tristram Cathedral section of Blizzard World. Halloween Terror 2020 will be releasing later in the month with Diablo style town portals, Zomnics.

Last year’s Halloween Terror event introduced Junkenstein’s Revenge: Wrath of the Bride and took the annual PvE co-op brawl to Eichenwalde. Ashe Junker Queen Kiriko Sojourn battled scarier versions Sombra Symmetra Winston Echo and hordes Zomnics as Ashe Junker Queen Kiriko Sojourn.

There are also Halloween-themed gameplay modes and cosmetics. Overwatch 2Samoa, a brand new map will debut in season 7, the seventh installment of Overwatch League. This new control map was revealed at Sunday’s grand finals for Overwatch League 2023. The Overwatch League 2023 grand finals are available to watch.
