Overwatch 2 Season 3 Brings New Map, One Punch Man Collab, Asian Mythology Theme, And Text-Based Dating Sim

Overwatch 2 will launch its third season on February 7, after its October launch. This season delivers several facets of new content, including a new Antarctica Control map, Asian Mythology theme, and a Kiriko Mythic skin. Blizzard also announced unexpected enhancements to Overwatch, such as the first IP collaboration and a web-based gaming game that coincides with Valentine’s Day.

The map rotation for Season 3 includes Antarctica. This map includes unique features such as an icebreaker ship and underground drilling stations. You can choose to go up-and-down or to the side to achieve your objectives.

The overall theme of Season 3 is Asian Mythology. Blizzard has created some of the most original skins it’s ever made, drawing from legends and cultures across Asia. Atop the Premium Battle Pass is the Amaterasu Kirikiko Mythic Skin. This skin was inspired from various Japanese deities. The Mythic skin features Kiriko’s new spirit fox look.

Overwatch 2’s fun gameplay and continuation of Overwatch was what initially impressed us. But the more time we spend with it, the less we are excited to play Overwatch 2. Blizzard appears to be aware of the negative impact its Battle Pass had on long-time players, and it is making some first steps towards rectifying this. Battle Pass Season 3 offers more rewards than just logging into and playing. You will receive 10 levels of reward on the free track as well as 1,500 Credits that you can use to access the Hero Gallery. In addition, the Premium track will receive 500 Credits more than previous seasons.

A large number of Epic and Legendary Overwatch 1 event hero skins are now available in the Hero Gallery. These skins can be purchased with Overwatch Coins, Credits, or at a lower price of 1,500 Credits. This is a decrease of nearly 1,900. Blizzard is also offering four skins you can earn outside the Battle Pass by participating in game events. Overwatch will be collaborating with Blizzard on its first IP.

One Punch Man, a popular manga/anime is the star of this first collaboration. Doomfist, Overwatch’s tough-hitting heavy, was gifted the costume of the hero who can defeat any opponent with just one punch. Blizzard states that this is only the beginning of a collaboration, and invites fans to share their ideas for possible future ones.

Blizzard has launched Loverwatch, a text-based non-canon dating sim. This web-based game allows players to choose from two possible dating routes: Mercy and Genji. You have the option to speak with your Hero, and help from Hanzo/Cupid. You’ll receive a Highlight Intro if you unlock the secret ending to this 30-minute sim. Loverwatch will remain available for play until February 28.

Overwatch 2 Season 3 begins on February 7. You can read the official blog post to learn more about what Season 3 will bring.
