Overwatch 2 season 2 patch buffs Doomfist, nerfs Kiriko and Sojourn
The launch of Overwatch 2’s second season, developer Blizzard Entertainment is rolling out a series of seasonal balance changes hoping to address gameplay issues from the game’s inaugural season. Some oft-requested nerfs and buffs are included in Tuesday’s patch, bringing much-needed boosts to Doomfist and Junker Queen, with decreases in overall power to heroes like Sojourn and Kiriko. You can now see the smaller tweaks. Overwatch 2 for heroes like Bastion, Symmetra, Ana, and Mercy — who mayBe a little more competent in battle right now.
There’s also a role-wide change for Damage heroes. Previously, all heroes in that category received a movement speed bonus, but as Blizzard points out in its patch notes, “While the additional movement speed was helpful indicator the passive was active, we saw change in speed negatively affecting the ability to aim precisely.” Damage heroes will instead get a reload speed bonus, boosted from 25% to 35%.
As for Doomfist, he’s getting a ton of tweaks designed to “increase his presence as a disruptive brawler-style tank.” A buff to his passive ability “will help him stay in the fight longer, especially when he’s hitting multiple enemies with his abilities,” Blizzard says.
Bastion’s ultimate is getting deadlier, while Kiriko’s is getting less powerful. Sojourn’s railgun is less of a point-and-kill weapon, while Mercy gets a bit more weapon proficiency. Here’s the full list of hero changes that arrived with Tuesday’s patch:
Doomfist
Rocket Punch
- Increased impact damage range (minimum and maximum) from 15-30 to 25%-50
- Range of wall slam damages (minimum and maximum) decreased from 20-40 to 30 damage
- The Empowered Rocket Punch wall stun duration has been reduced to between 0.5-1 and 0.25-0.75 Seconds
- Non-Empowered Rocket Punch is now able to stun for at least 0.25 seconds while wall slammed
- Reduced knockback radius for Empowered Rocket Punch from 4 to 3 Meters
- Reduced time limit before cancellation option becomes availble from 0.25 to 0.12 Seconds
- The cooldown is reduced to 4 to 3 seconds
- It has been there since his rework. However, this was not mentioned.
Power Block
- The cooldown time has been reduced to 8-7 seconds
- The duration was increased to 2 to 2.5 seconds
- Rocket Punch’s damage mitigation requirements have been reduced to 90 to 80 damages
Meteor Strike
- Rocket Punch now allows for landing
- Increased enemy slow duration from 2 to 3.
‘The Best Defense…’ Passive
- Increased maximum temporary health from 150 to 200
- Per target hit, temporary health is gained with increased abilities from 30-40 health
Junker Queen
- The volume of the head and Torso hit was increased by 12 percent
Rampage
- The wound time is reduced to 5 to 4.5 seconds
- Lower Ultimate Cost by 10%
The Commanding Shout
- Reduced cooldown from 15 to 14 Seconds
‘Adrenaline’ Passive
- Increased passive healing multiplier of adrenaline from 1.25x wound damage to 1 to 1.25x
Bastion
Configuration Artillery
- Reduced delay before the projectile falls from 1 to 0.06 seconds
- Reduced explosion damage from 300 to 250
- This is not the time to inflict self-explosions.
- Minimal delay in placing shots is reduced to 20%
Modify
- The cooldown time has been reduced to 12-10 seconds
Stay in the city
Railgun
- Reduced energy delay between draining and draining from 8 to 5 seconds
- The range of secondary fire damage reduction starting point has been reduced from 70-40 meters
- Primary fire critical damage multiplier decreased from 2 to 1.5
- Secondary fire damage is now linearly scaled with energy, ranging from 30 to 130 to one damage (energy converts into 1 damage).
- From 9 to 10, primary fire damage per projectile rose from 9-10
- The overclock energy rate has increased by 20%

- Increased Ultimate Cost by 10%
- Move speed bonus reduced from 50% to 30%
- Reduced cooling rate from 3 to 2-times faster
Protection Suzu
- Cast time decreased from 0.15 second to 0.1 second
Kunai
- The ammo was increased by 12 to 15.
Quick Step
- You can now hold the ability input to activate
Mercy
- The time it takes to swap weapons has been reduced by 0.5 to 0.35 seconds
Caduceus Blaster
- The ammo was increased by 20-25
