Overwatch 2: It Will Take New Players About 100 Matches To Unlock All Original Heroes

Overwatch 2 newcomers will need to unlock original characters. This means that they won’t be available from day one. 

According to a report by Destructoid. Blizzard stated that Overwatch’s modes and hero pool have become overwhelming for new players. The team created a First Time User Experience (FTUE) for Overwatch 2 players that have not played Overwatch before. 

That feedback was addressed by the new FTUE. Players will first need to unlock the game’s chat and modes. Next, phase 2 will allow players to unlock Overwatch’s heroes and chat functions. Destructoid. It’s important to note this is just for the original game’s heroes – new heroes will be unlocked through Overwatch 2’s battle pass system. 

By winning 50 Quick Play games, you can get competitive play. Blizzard claims that “most FTUE limitations are lifted while playing in a group so players can join their friends to enjoy almost all game modes.” But competitive is an exception. 

“While this [new FTUE]This blog explains that it helps players participate in the game, and also encourages cheating and disruptive behaviour. “FTUE is an investment to complete because it takes time to unlock game features – Competitive, specifically, cannot be accessed without winning matches. The larger community is not affected immediately by disruptive players. Voice chat and matchchat unlocking will be available later in FTUE. This experience will allow us to detect suspicious accounts and identify cheaters before we can create new accounts. 

Blizzard says that you don’t need to complete the First Time User Experience if you already have Overwatch playtime or the Watchpoint Pack.
