Outriders’ will see Worldslayer expansion in 2022, New Horizon update

New Horizon Outriders’ first and final free content update, People Can Fly revealed in a pre-recorded video on Monday. This update will launch Nov. 16. Studio also revealed a paid expansion. WorldslayerComing in the next year. Outside of a brief story teaser, People Can Fly haven’t revealed any additional details on Worldslayer.

The New Horizon update is a mix of content and quality improvement. It includes new Expeditions, gear, and other improvements.

At a recent media event, New Horizon was available for me to interact with. Here’s a look at what it’s adding to OutridersThese are my impressions, after just a few hours.

Is there a New Horizon?

People Can Fly began the broadcast by explaining that there were technical problems. Outriders’ launch — developers called “bittersweet” in a Q&A session. But while the development team has worked to fix these issues, players haven’t gotten any new content to play since. New Horizon is making these changes.

These are the main items of the New Horizon update. Outriders endgame. Four Expeditions will be available for players, which can then be run together with friends. Expeditions no longer have a time limit, so there is less pressure. Players also get the option to increase the difficulty to earn better rewards. Since launch, the loot system has seen significant improvements, including improved Legendary drop rates and duplication protection. Additionally, there is a more equitable distribution of loot based on Expedition length. This will make longer missions more rewarding.

These are the difficult, punishing final missions. OutridersEye of the Storm now offers players the chance to choose from Legendary. It will make it much easier for builders to be built. Drop Pod players who have enough resources can purchase additional items from the Legendary merchant, such as a loot reroll, and a randomly generated Legendary slot machine.

New Horizon features many highly-requested quality-of life features like the transmog system which lets players personalize their weaponry and gear. And People Can Fly is very clear — seemingly mocking Bungie’s horrible transmog system in Destiny 2 — that players can simply unlock gear cosmetics and apply them without spending currency or microtransactions.

People Can Fly is also working to improve and balance many abilities and skills in order to offer more build variety for its players. A player will have the ability to join a group of friends across any platform. Outriders’ improved cross-play.

New Horizon will go live on November 16th for Google Stadia (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5), Windows PCs, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

This is Outriders It is worth it to re-install for New Horizon

“Should I get back into Outriders with New Horizon?” was the burning question on my mind going into the update. I got both a Devastator and Pyromancer through the campaign at launch, but ran out of steam in the game’s endgame due to a variety of connectivity issues and bugs. Feeling like I’d missed the boat on the final Eye of the Storm mission because of the game’s initial problems — a situation I imagine a lot of day one players are in — I was hoping I’d eventually find a reason to return.

Almost immediately after booting my remote New Horizon play session, using s pre-built character in a group of other players I didn’t know, I was reminded why I sunk so much time into Outriders In fact, it was this time last year. My class has made it even more fun to roll around and blast enemies, as well as spamming my skills.

New Horizon will be more similar to the original, but People Can Fly’s lessons learned from launch are evident. My team was able to overcome difficulties beyond our equipment level. But, this time, it felt different. The removal of the Expedition timer — something that never bothered me at launch — changed the feel of the entire mode.

Instead of rushing through each encounter trying to inflict as much damage, I was able to think ahead, plan and be smart. Instead of trying to manage every enemy simultaneously, as the Devastator (the tanky Devastator), I was able to focus my attention on large groups of smaller enemies and one big foe. Expeditions can be failed even if you have all the players fall (which we did in short time). But this necessary evil makes it more interesting to fight for your life.

At launch, Outriders felt like a great first draft. It was a game that felt like the original Assassin’s CreedOder Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, where you can sense that there’s something special here buried under People Can Fly’s first shot at a loot game. New Horizon isn’t the second draft I’m desperate for, but it’s definitely enough to get me back in the game and proof that Outriders Is moving in the right directions ahead of its 2022 expansion.
