Optimus Prime Is Getting A Lego Set And It Launches Next Month

Lego excels at hiding secrets. Lego’s latest surprise is sets that are based on Transformers licensing. It will be coming soon. We can head to the Lego store nearest you to pick up an Optimus Prime Lego kit. It’s not yet known what the set looks like, how many pieces it contains, nor how much, but it is OPTIMUS PREMIER! All of this stuff doesn’t really matter. For Transformers lovers, this will be an easy purchase. This is Lego’s teaser announcement.

Lego has the perfect way to kick off Transformers’ reign as Lego: With the leader of Autobots. This product is likely to sell out, and I would love to see other Transformers receive the brick treatment. Megatron is likely to be the next set. It’s anyone’s guess what happens next. A few characters who might be in the future include Starscream, Bumblebee and Grimlock.

It’s possible that Lego has figured out how all pieces can be used for the two forms of transformation: robot or vehicle. There are Lego sets already in existence that use identical pieces to build three different Lego builds. This could lead to some triple-changers!

My hobby is Lego building and collecting. I would be very concerned if the set was based on Transformers movies. Lego should go with the Generation 1 design that debuted in 1980s cartoons.
