One Piece Odyssey On Course For 2022 Release

Although the manga enters its final story next month, there are still many One Piece stories that can be enjoyed. One Piece Odyssey was a trailer that introduced the Straw Hat Crew and showed off the environment players will find at the upcoming JRPG. It was shown at Summer Game Fest. 

You can see the trailer above. It gives each Straw Hat an spotlight while their ship, The Thousand Sunny, shoots up into the air. They’re up there because of a strange cloud that forms above the seas while a Knock Up Stream kicks the ship into the air before one of Franky’s Coup De Burst propels them even closer to danger. Franky, Robin and Brook are also present, but Jinbei, a newcomer, is not. 

As for in-game footage, we see some exploration of the world, and you can control more of the cast than just Monkey D. Luffy, so if you’re a big Zorro, Sanji, or Chopper fan, you’ll get to take direct control of them at some point. 

One Piece Odyssey has yet to be released, though the trailer shows that it will arrive this year. The game will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
