Oddworld: Soulstorm Enhanced Edition – What You Should Know

We’re thrilled to announce that the Xbox 360 will now have the second instalment of the Odyssey of Abe. Oddworld: Soulstorm enhanced editionThis update is a major improvement on the award winning action-adventure platformer Soulstorm: Oddworld. These seven months have been spent perfecting, tuning and improving the game.

Xbox users also get exclusive content. We’ll be discussing that later. For now, let’s dive into what you need to know about the game before you play.

Challenging

It is important to understand that you can’t just do anything without knowing the following: OddworldIt is difficult to play game. We don’t make easy games. These games are difficult and require patience, skill, concentration, as well as patience.

Epicness

This isn’t a traditional 2D side scrolling platformer. Soulstorm is a 2.9D action-adventure platformer with 15 hours of gameplay, and dozens of hours more for achievement hunters trying to earn over 30  badges of varying levels of difficulty or leaderboard chasers trying to get that top spot.

In every stage, the incredible scale of the adventure is evident. You should find it both exhilarating and somewhat daunting when you reach Phat Station from Sorrow Valley.

While side scrolling platformers may not offer large scale but have 2.9D resolution, SoulstormIt allows players to play the game. You can see what is behind you SoulstormYou will need to pass these challenges in order to win the game. You will see things in the distance. This is just our way to let you know where your journey takes you.

Platform for Explosive Action Adventure Adventure

Adding RPG-lite elements to platforming allows you to be as aggressive or passive as you wish.

Pickpocketing your enemies and looting lockers are some of the tasks. You also need to sift through garbage cans to find resources hidden in areas. Exchange resources at vending machines to get products that give you more agency in how you chose to conquer the game’s challenges. You can acquire recipes that will allow you to make tools or weapons against the opposing force, and solve your problems.

You can create an arsenal using recipes. You can take control of Slips to use their weapons against you. Hogtie them using Bouncy Binding Candy. With your Flamethrower, you can make them smokey. Sticky Fizzy Pow can be used to destroy unstable platforms or kill Sligs.

Hijack is level 7. You will meet Slig Momma. Trust me, it is dangerous because she can fire rockets at you and you’re on high-speed trains.

Level 16, The Brewery, is one of my favorite levels. You must first get to Level 16, which can be challenging (see Multiple Endings). You will be able to apply all the skills, knowledge and recipes you acquired during your long journey. These recipes can lead to a dazzlingly exciting adventure. And don’t forget the small army of followers you have with you. Put them in aggressive mode, and they’ll assist.

Start a Revolution

SoulstormThis is dark and funny story with a wicked sense of humor. It reveals the many ironies in our human nature. Abe started as a slave in big business. Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty. He was an integral part of the corporate machinery and was literally and metaphorically being killed.    

SoulstormThe story goes on. Revolutions are like a tiny fire. However, if it burns brightly enough and for long enough, other people may be able see the flames and become involved. You can also find in SoulstormYou will require an army in order to defeat these evil forces.

Completionists

Is it possible to save all Mudokons in this game? There are over 1,300. Are you able to find the most satisfying endings for each level? Is it possible to find all the jelly, safe-guard every locker and trashcan, capture every villain, safely kill them, or make sure they are dead? This has been possible for more than 3 million players.

Multiple Endings SoulstormThe game has fifteen levels with two more unlockable levels towards the end. This makes it total 17 levels. The game has four endings.

At the end of each individual level, you receive a Quarma score, which is based on the number of Mudokons you  saved during the level. You must save at least 80% of the Mudokons in a level to achieve a good score, but to make it clear, you don’t have to save any to progress through the game’s first 15 levels. 

·         If you save at least 80% in up to six levels, you will earn the worst ending.

·         If you achieve that score in at least 7 and not higher than 11 levels, you unlock the bad ending which has an explosive ending cinematic.

·         If you save 80% in at least 12 of the 15 levels, you earn the good ending unlocking an additional cinematic and levels 16 and 17.

·         Lastly, if you secure 80% in all 17 levels you earn an additional ending (newspaper cinematic).

Xbox Exclusive Content

Vykkers Labs brings back classic Oddworld 2.5D gaming with short levels and puzzles. Earn leaderboard prestige for speed runs or zero-death performances. For those who don’t recall, Vykkers Labs is a large airborne lab used for pharmaceutical testing on animals and run by the sadistic Vykkers.

Revolutions require a leader. Followers are essential for a leader. Your support will allow Abe to navigate his path of saving them all. You will face almost impossible odds as you navigate a vast 2.9D world that is prone to death. You have two options: use brute force to oppress your oppressors, or stealthily maneuver to dodge detection.

Your opponents will include a profiteering class with a sinister plot to endanger the survival of an enslaved population. You will need to gather ingredients for powerful weapons and arms your supporters to fight back.

Remember that the greater your savings, the better the result. It is possible to find hidden levels, if you are determined enough. It is possible that you have the ability to create a new revolution and become a leader board member.
