Octopath Traveler II Announced, Releasing Next February
Nintendo revealed Octopath Traveler II as a sequel for 2018’s Octopath Sequel. The game will release next year.
Octopath Traveler was the first title in the series. It was initially released on Switch only in 2018, before moving to PC in 2019, Stadia 2020 and then finally Xbox One 2021. Nintendo has announced Octopath Traveler II, which will arrive on Switch in 2023.
Below is the reveal trailer:
Octopath Traveler II, as expected, is looking fantastic. Rather than picking up with our previous heroes, this sequel presents us with eight new travelers: the warrior Hikari, the dancer Agnea, the merchant Partitio, the scholar Osvald, the thief Throné, the cleric Temenos, the hunter Ochette, and the apothecary Castii. You can also choose to have each path action differ depending on the time of day or night. Although more details were not shared today, it appears that the game takes place in a different time and era than what is known about Octopath Universe.
Octopath Traveler II was actually leaked online via GMG just before today’s Direct. This discovery was made by Wario64 on Twitter. All that was leaked were the title and key art.
Octopath Traveler was a favorite of ours in 2018. We gave it an 8.Ame Informer Octopath Traveler review. The news of the sequel arrives shortly after Octopath Traveler Champions of the Continent was released, a mobile-only spinoff that was launched July 27. Read more information about the game here.
Octopath Traveler is set to hit Switch February 24, 2023.
