Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent Launches In The West This Year

Octopath Traveler : Champions of the Continent – This is a mobile prequel of the 2018 RPG, which was launched in Japan on October 2020. This RPG was hugely popular in other countries, so Octopath enthusiasts from the west now have the chance to check it out when the English version is released.

Champions of the Continent works in the same way as the original title. Although the original title retained the turn-based command system, eight players can now take to the field instead of four. Naturally, the game retains the original’s signature HD-2D art style. 

The story of the game takes place in Osterra, which is still the continent. There are three main characters in the story: Tytos, Auguste and Herminia (the Witch of Greed). Each character sets out on a journey in search of wealth, power, glory and to defeat a great evil. You may also see familiar faces from the original Octopath Traveler. 

Octopath Traveler Champions of the Continent: A free-to-play game with microtransactions. New characters can be obtained by using the standard gacha-style mechanics. The game launches on iOS and Android in North America and Europe sometime in 2022 with a closed beta beginning in Spring. New information is expected to drop in “mid-February” on the game’s newly launched Facebook page. 

Until then, Octopath’s spiritual tactical follow-up Triangle Strategy is on the horizon, releasing on March 4.
