Obsidian Entertainment is aware that many players are looking forward to a fresh look. Avowed and we’re excited to show off what we’ve been working on with a first-ever gameplay trailer today at Xbox Games Showcase 2023.

The universe we developed for our original Pillars games has been expanded. Avowed Brings a fresh perspective to the game, as well as a brand new battle system and land in Eora. The Pillars games are near and dear to us and we can’t wait to share Avowed Next year, we will be with you all.

The following are some of the ways to get in touch with us Avowed, you’ll explore the Living Lands, a plagued, wild island set in the world of Eora. There are many mysteries, secrets and dangers in the Living Lands. You can also choose your own path and face consequences.

The Living Lands are unique to Eora. They feature bustling ports and hills covered with bizarre and fantastical plants. Each part of the Living Lands has its own unique ecosystem. Around every corner there are creatures, sentient mushrooms, or tribes of lizard-like Xaurips looking to make you their next meal…

Like all of our previous RPGs the companions will be familiar to you. Avowed You will play an important role in this adventure. Kai is the first character you’ll meet. He narrates this gameplay trailer. Kai is a Coastal Aumaua currently residing in the Living Lands and is one of the only friendly faces you’ll find here. His idealistic, pragmatic nature will be your guide as you explore this frontier.

First-person combat has been a huge focus for us. We’ve incorporated a host of ways for players to fight the flora and fauna of the Living Lands. The Living Lands will provide you with a wide range of tools, such as swords, shields or pistols. Magical spells are also available, along with the option to dual-wield.

You will need to make a wide variety of choices as you travel through the Living Lands. The island of Xuarips is home to plagued zombies, dangerous flora and the Xuarips.
