Nintendo’s discounted Switch game vouchers are back

Nintendo’s Switch Online service has become a better deal over time, offering more perks than just the ability to play games online. Nintendo yesterday announced a new perk that includes access to classic SNES and NES games and cloud backups.

Subscribers can purchase a 2-pack of these coupons for $99.98. A wide range of first-party, or discount-averse, Nintendo games is also included. The full list is available here. Highlights include: Fire Emblem is Engage, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, Bayonetta Origins: Cereza, the Lost Demon, Metroid Dread, Splatoon 3, The Legend of Zelda – Breath of the WildAnd Pokémon ScarletAnd Violet. You must both be subscribed to purchase. AndUse these coupons.

It’s great that this list is more expansive than Nintendo’s first swing at this deal in 2019. The perk allows for pre-purchase of up to 4 sets (totaling 8 games) and can be used to turn Switch Online into an essential service. AndThey can be kept for twelve months after purchase. You can save up to $80 by purchasing four bundles. Each title costs $59.99. You can save money on a lot more games by purchasing bundles.

I know what you might be thinking: “Can I use one on Tears of the Kingdom: The Legend of Zelda?” Nintendo has not currently listed the deliriously anticipated sequel to Take a deep breath of the wildThe movie will be released on May 12, 2023. Polygon has reached out to Nintendo to see if it’ll eventually become eligible, but did not hear back in time for publication.

You can get a free seven-day trial for Switch Online here, and you can easily subscribe to the service directly from the Switch’s eShop (it costs $3.99 per month, $7.99 for three months, or $19.99 per year). For $19.99, you can buy (or give) a 1 year subscription to Switch Online with a digital coupon via Best Buy. Switch Online is available for up to 8 Switch accounts at a cost of $34.99/year.

Access to all perks for players who wish to enjoy the game.
