Nintendo Switch Online adds 4 new Sega Genesis games

Four new Sega Genesis models were added to the Sega Genesis line-up by Nintendo and Sega on Thursday for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Subscribers. These include the legendary Sega Genesis Genesis. Zero Wing, a side-scrolling shoot-’em-up with a notorious English-language translation.

Joining Taoplan’s heavily memed Zero Wing are:

  • Mega ManThe Wily Wars, Capcom’s 16-bit remakes of the first three Mega Man games for Genesis. All three of these games are completed by players who have played all three. Mega Man: The Wily Wars can access Wily Tower, where they’ll face a new boss.
  • Comix ZoneSide-scrolling action built around the comic book panel system. Sketch Turner, a hero/comic artist/martial art master who is trapped in the comic world he made and must escape.
  • Target EarthRex, an open-world shooter where players can take control of Rex with his Assault Suit in order to protect the Earth from Chron Cyborgs.

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack is the premium tier of Nintendo’s online subscription service, and offers access to online multiplayer for Switch games, a variety of expansions and downloadable content, and a library of Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games (in addition to NES and Super NES games). The addition of Comix Zone, Mega Man: The Wily Wars, Target EarthAnd Zero WingSubscribers to Nintendo Switch Online + Expandsion Pack now have access 29 Sega Genesis games.

Nintendo Switch Online + Extension Pack is $49.99 per year for an individual user and $79.99 for a family plan (for eight or more users).
