Nintendo launched a new mission system for Nintendo Switch Online users

An active Nintendo Switch Online account has a few more options available to personalize their player profiles. Now, you can complete weekly Nintendo missions and earn platinum points. This currency can then be used for digital wallpapers or physical items in the My Nintendo Store. You also get new icons from popular games such as Mario Kart. Super Mario Odyssey Animal Crossing – New Horizons. It’s all part of a new “Missions and Rewards” feature bundled in with Nintendo Switch Online.

The icons can include backgrounds, characters or frames. These elements may be combined to make a unique icon for your player. Every week will have a new theme with different icon elements. The initial set of icons will only be available from April 3rd. Choose from New HorizonsInclude: Molly, Molly, Chevre, the goat and Dom the tie-die-wearing she character. Cappy and Toad are two other Mario icons.

The “missions” are relatively simple. Each week the app assigns tasks such as playing online games or the NES software. A single game played online per week can award 30 Platinum points. One Animal Crossing avatar will cost you 10 Platinum Points.

To get the new icons, you need an active Nintendo Switch Online account and you’ll need to load up the app from your Nintendo Switch. After you have done that, you can simply select the Missions and Rewards option from the lefthand navigation.
