Nintendo Indie World: 7 best announcements from Nintendo’s Indie Direct

Nintendo’s latest Indie World Showcase revealed several new games coming to Nintendo Switch — including a quartet of indies that arrive on the eShop today — and release dates for ports of beloved indies that were previously announced. Wednesday’s Indie World also offered a first look at two brand-new games, Doinksoft’s Gunbrella and Aggro Crab’s Another Crab’s TreasureThis announcement marked the arrival of Switch models of the upcoming Switch operating systems. Mini Motorways, Soundfall, Opus: Echo of StarsongAnd Gibbon: Beyond the Trees.

Here are the other big announcements Nintendo and its indie partners made during Wednesday’s livestream.

Gunbrella

Doinksoft’s newest video game, “The New Game” Gato Roboto, Gunbrella lets players wield the titular Gunbrella, letting them glide, swing, and shoot in “gritty” side-scrolling combat. Nintendo Switch will launch the game sometime around 2023. GunbrellaIt is described by a noir-punk action starring a gruff, woodsman in a search for revenge. As players fight crime and the supernatural, they’ll upgrade their Gunbrella using scavenged parts.

Another Crab’s Treasure

Another Crab’s TreasureA new kind of soulslike where the player is a shellless hermit crab fighting other crustaceans in a quest for its armor. This game was developed by Moving UnderDeveloper Aggro Crab has announced that this action-adventure-game about crustaceans will be coming to Switch in 2023.

ElecHead

This 2D platformer is clever, challenging, and clever. It’s a simple, but brilliant puzzle-platformer and it’s coming to Switch this summer.

Mini Motorways

This is the sequel Mini Metro, Dinosaur Polo Club’s city-planning puzzle game has players draw and build roads to deal with traffic. The experience is constantly updated with upgrades and changes to traffic patterns. This addictive puzzle game can be found on Switch right now.

Ooblets

Ooblets, the colorful, Pokémon-esque life simulation first released in 2020, is heading to Nintendo Switch this summer. Badgetown is a place where players can train and grow the titular ooblets. You can keep your whole community happy with minigames, customization and friendly neighbours. OobletsEnjoy a new experience

Simulator for Battle – 100% AccurateYou can also call it: TABSFor short, the game is a big hit on Steam and will be coming to Switch this summer. This strategy sim lets players create wild, crazy wars among wobblers.

Wildfrost

Chucklefish is now known as Deadpan Games, Gatizer and Chucklefish. WildfrostThe Nintendo Switch and PC will soon get a brand new deck-building game called. It’s a mix of deckbuilding and adventure, Chucklefish says, in which players rally a deck of “charming companions and powerful elemental items in an attempt to take back a world that has fallen to the Wildfrost.”
