New World introduces Public Test Realm with Into the Void update

While Amazon’s New World MMO launched with major problems. The developer now plans to release big updates. A Public Test Realm is the first, which gives early access to new features. To test the upcoming Into the Void updates, which will include a new weapon and a variety of quests as well as quality-of-life improvements to complete the Aeternum universe, the first item on the list.

The Public Test Realm, or PTR, is described as “a limited-availability server-set that will give players an early look at upcoming features.” Players with a copy of New WorldYou can search the Test Realm as a standalone app in your Steam library. Once downloaded, you can jump onto testing servers and make a character using a variety of gear. The Test Realm will close after the end of the testing period and it will be reset.

You can test Into the Void. It includes the Void Gauntlet which is a DPS/support combo weapon. The Void Gauntlet grows in strength based both on the Intelligence stats and the Focus stats. The Annihilation branch is focused on summoning Void Blades in order to corrode your opponents, and the Decay trees offer the Orb of Decay, which debuffs enemies as well as heals them.

There’s also a new set of missions based around the Varangian Raiders. These guys are up to no good, and they’ve established war camps and a fort across Aeternum. It is up to the player to figure out how the Varangians got here, what they did to stop them and whether there are more. You will be joined by new enemies, including pirate alligators and ancient guardians.

The new Into the Void testing patch includes the following PvP faction mission type types:

Control points These missions will send you to take control of Forts.

Intercept – Take down enemy faction members to collect your tears. (Doesn’t reset.

Looting War Camp Hidden plans from the enemy war camp can be retrieved

This patch includes improvements to Trading Posts. They are now unified across the globe. You are in the right settlement at the time to determine the price of selling or buying.

However New World has had some serious issues, fans have been identifying these bugs and bringing them to Amazon’s attention. The Public Test Server will hopefully prevent catastrophic exploits from ever going live and make it easier to navigate Aeternum.
