New Overwatch 2 Heroes Will Need To Be Unlocked On The Battle Pass’ Free Track

Overwatch 2 won’t be available immediately.

Jon Spector, Overwatch’s vice president and commercial lead and Blizzard Vice President of Blizzard revealed the news on Twitter. This follows rumors and leaks that suggested that new heroes will need to be unlocked through the battle pass. It is a premium paid pass that rewards players who level up in it in a similar fashion to Fortnite passes. Although it’s true that the new heroes need to be unlock through battle pass, Spector stated on Twitter that they will not be on the paid track for the battlepass.

“Addressing some incomplete info posted early about our Overwatch 2 Battle Pass – we’ll be sharing all details ahead of launch, but want to confirm that new Overwatch 2 heroes will be available on the free track of the Battle Pass.”

Overwatch 2’s new heroes won’t cost you anything. It could take some time for these heroes to be unlocked, depending on their current position on the free track. While we will never know for sure, Overwatch 2 will soon be available.
