New movies to watch: BlackBerry, Magic Mike 3, To Leslie on Netflix, and more

Polygon readers, happy June!

We highlight the best and biggest new releases each week for streaming and VOD. There are a number of VOD and streaming releases this week.

To Leslie, which resulted in one of the year’s most interesting Oscar campaigns, arrives on Netflix, while the trilogy-capping Magic Mike’s Last Dance The recently renamed Max Platform finally debuts. There’s also an exorcist movie on Hulu, a Sydney Sweeney movie on Max, and the VOD debuts of BlackBerry, Charlie Day’s Fool’s Paradise, Robert Rodriguez’s bewildering Ben Affleck psychological thriller HypnoticThe new movie, as well as a few others.

Andrea Riseborough is Leslie Rowland. An alcoholic from West Texas wins the lotto, but spends her prize money on alcohol and drugs. Leslie, who has nothing to fall back on and nowhere else to go, tries to rebuild her own life and reconnect to loved ones that she’s been estranged from by her drug addiction. Even if you’re not familiar with the film, you might be familiar with the unconventional Oscar nomination campaign for Riseborough’s performance, which sparked a controversy among the awards committee.

Mike Lane is once again contacted by Salma Haiek (a rich socialite) in order to create a new dance show.
