New Marvel’s Avengers PS5 Bug Can Only Be Fixed By Deleting Your Story Progress

Marvel’s Avengers post-launch success hasn’t been stellar since its release in 2020. Crystal Dynamics supports the game well with solid expansions, character drops such as War for Wakanda (Spider-Man) and Spider-Man. Even with these great additions, the PlayStation 5 game-breaking bug that affects all remaining gamers negatively impacts the enjoyment of this superhero title. This bug causes Marvel’s Avengers crashes every time it loads, so you must delete your progress.

The official Marvel’s Avengers twitter account posted a recent tweet about the quick fix:

“Our team is still investigating the crash that some PS5 users experienced. Our team believes we have a solution that’s currently being tried and tested. Tomorrow morning we will have additional news and keep you informed.

In the meantime, here’s a workaround that is resolving the issue for some players – just note that it will reset your campaign progress: Go to Operations and Reset your Reassemble Campaign Progress. After you’ve become young Kamala in A-Day and force-close the game, you’ll be able launch Avengers Initiative.

Based on IGN, commenters have noted that the fix works and only targets story progress – playable characters and purchased microtransactions remain unaffected. A large number of players remain dismayed by the possibility of their campaign being deleted. Add to that the fact that PS5 users have been unable to participate in this week’s double XP events (which ends today), it becomes even more apparent that these things are very bleak. The bug should be fixed soon, we hope.
