New League of Legends comic Katarina is packed with lore revelations

It’s surprisingly easy to miss the newest League of LegendsIt is a comic that has a solution to the most ancient mystery in all of Riot Universe. The comic is published on Webtoon instead of the official Riot Universe site, and it dives into one of the game’s original champions.

Katarina Du Couteau works as an assassin in Noxus. Noxus was an aggressive expansionist empire that possesses a cutthroat meritocracy. As an assassin, she was instrumental in assisting the Grand General of Noxus to pull off a coup. KatarinaExplores what the champion did during Demacia’s mage rebellion, before finally introducing her father.

The mystery surrounding General Du Couteau’s mysterious disappearance is one that dates back to the beginning of history League’s lore retcon and restart of 2014, and yet managed to survive that great lore purge. Cassiopeia (two) and Katarina (two). LeagueHis biological daughters are the champions. Talon was the third House Du Couteau Champion. He was taken in from the streets. Du Couteau, a demanding and abusive father, expected the best of his children. The voice lines implied that Katarina had murdered Du Couteau and hidden the fact.

Katarina is some of the most in-depth lore we’ve gotten on Talon and Katarina yet, and it makes both characters surprisingly likeable. The champions talk about the past, their legacy and the current political climate in Noxus. Things get complicated, and Katarina is dispatched to Demacia — which is a metaphorical powder keg about to explode with a mage rebellion.
