New Kirby trailer shows off new Switch game’s most peculiar features

Kirby, the Forgotten LandThe brave, fearless, pink puffball is forced to find himself in an odd post-apocalyptic universe where nature has overtaken civilization. In true Kirby style, he responds to the cry of the Waddle Dees being kidnapped and taken by the Beast Pack. Kirby has to make use of his copying abilities in order to save the planet and find the secrets that will lead him into this realm. Kirby also receives a gun. You get ‘em, Kirby.

A new overview trailer for the March Nintendo Switch release goes into depth about some of the gameplay features — including the highly anticipated Mouthful Mode, where Kirby takes on the shape of whatever object he can wrap his mouth around. Kirby can also transform into the vehicle we saw in the trailer. He is able to become a pipe or a ring and even stairs. Kirby also swallows large amounts of water, and the water balloon becomes sentient. This is what we love.

Trailer also shows off some other game modes, such as just relaxing at Waddledee village. The Colosseum has bosses that players can fight, mini-games can be played, as well as co-op mode where Bandana Waddle Dee can play.

Kirby, the Forgotten LandNintendo Switch launches March 25th. You can now download a free trial from the Nintendo eShop.
