New Halo Infinite Video Highlights Banished Leader Escharum Who Really Wants To Fight Master Chief

Microsoft and 343 Industries release a new video that highlights Escharum the Banished leader’s determination to end humanity and master Chief. 

You see, even if you don’t consider yourself a Spartan, UNSC member or civilian, Master Chief is likely to have beef with you, particularly if it’s religious fanatics or those who are determined on ending humankind’s existence. That’s very much the case with Escharum, who seems to be the primary antagonist of Halo Infinite’s campaign (you know, besides the whole rampant Cortana AI who wants to activate an old Halo and use it to destroy all life). 

Escharum said in the video that “Hope is what makes you weak”. The belief that someday a savior will arrive, or that someone will rescue you, is what humanity holds on to. But it won’t. You can break armor. Bodies shattered. You will see that the only thing you have built in your last days is a grave. “A place where all hope is lost.”

Escharum, that’s an evil monologue. 

But… Escharum can be found in the Banished Blunder Leader. In 2020, the first Halo Infinite campaign gameplay was shown You may also see him briefly in the New trailer from Halo Infinite – Overview Trailer Released Yesterday. Although Master Chief will focus on saving the UNSC and finding The Weapon AI to stop Cortana’s plans, Eshcarum, it appears, will also be traveling along that path, preparing for his fight against Spartan117. It will be interesting to see what happens next. 

You may recall criticisms about Escharum in the Halo Infinite campaign’s reveal from 2020. Escharum does look better in this trailer than it did yesterday, but you should also note that the Escharum version is CGI. The 2020 version, however, was an in-engine model. We still have not been shown what Escharum looks like in-engine just yet, but if yesterday’s new campaign overview is any indication, Escharum, much like everything else in the game, looks much better now.
