New details on Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s three starters

Everything Pokémon Scarlet Violet’s starter Pokémon are very cute. They look adorable, but will that be the case? That was the biggest question that came out of February’s Pokémon Presents broadcast. Sadly, The Pokémon Company hasn’t shared just what these three cuties will evolve into, but there Is more information available. These are the essential details.

With Pokémon Scarlet Violet’s new trailer, which debuted Wednesday, The Pokémon Company is highlighting Sprigatito, a “capricious, attention-seeking Grass Cat Pokémon;” Fuecoco, a “laid-back Fire Croc Pokémon that does things at its own pace;” and Quaxly, an “earnest and tidy Duckling Pokémon.” For one, Sprigatito can photosynthesize and Quaxly is very particular about keeping its head clean. Fuecoco loves food and is very laid-back, but not when it comes down to eating.

Sprigatito

Capricious and attention seeking, it may sulk if it sees its Trainer giving attention to a Pokémon other than itself. Sprigatito releases a sweet scent when it rubs its forepaws together. This can enchant those who are around it. The aroma can be used to treat ailments and make enemies lose the will to fight. Because its fluffy fur is similar in composition to plant hairs, it absorbs sunlight and creates energy. The fur is moisturized by the grooming process, which helps it to photosynthesise.

Fuecoco

Fuecoco has a laid back personality and is able to do things its way. Fuecoco loves food and will run to any meal it sees. External heat is absorbed by the square scales on Fuecoco’s stomach and back, then converted into fire energy. The scales can get extremely hot at times, but they are always warm. Flickering atop Fuecoco’s head is fire energy that is leaking out from inside the Pokémon’s body. Fuecoco’s head emits more flames when it gets excited.

Quaxly

This serious-mannered Pokémon will follow in its Trainer’s wake. Quaxly likes to keep its heads clean and is very neat. The gel that its feathers secrete repels grime and water makes Quaxly’s body glossy. You can shave the coif at its top with rich moist cream. It becomes unruly when it dries. The strong legs of the turtle allow it to swim in strong currents without any difficulty. It kicks opponents quickly and often in battle.
