New Crimson Desert Gameplay Will Premiere At Gamescom Opening Night Live

Geoff Keighley, who hosts the E3-style show of the latest games at Gamescom next week will kick off the event. Keighley has revealed today that Crimson Desert, which was previously quiet, will now be making its presence felt in new gameplay footage.

Crimson Desert is a single-player open-world RPG that was announced at The Game Awards, in 2020. It comes from Pearl Abyss – the studio responsible for popular MMO Black Desert Online. Crimson Desert, a single player open world RPG is set in the grim medieval fantasy of Pywel. This biodiverse continent is inhabited by humans, fantastical races, and mystical beasts and centers on Macduff, a mercenary who assembles a band of comrades to survive an ensuing power struggle of numerous factions vying to take control of the continent. 

Western fantasy series like resound in the game’s tone and presentation. Game of Thrones. Combat consists of fast-paced melee combat (both unarmed and with various weapons) and flashy magic abilities. Crimson Desert doesn’t have a release date, but Pearl Abyss CEO Hajin Young stated earlier this year that the game was targeting a fall 2023 release window. Opening Night Live will likely reveal if that is still the case on Tuesday, August 22, at 11 am Pacific/2 pm Eastern.
