NetherRealm Reveals Smoke And Rain For Mortal Kombat 1 Fighter Roster

NetherRealm revealed that Smoke Rain and Rain will be joining Mortal Kombat 1’s roster. 

These two returning characters were revealed as actual fighters on the roster – they still could be part of the Kameo roster, however – in a new gameplay trailer released today focused on the Lin Kuei faction. We see Scorpion and Sub Zero’s attempts to further establish the Lin Kuei faction within Liu Kang’s recently rebooted Mortal Kombat Universe (hence, Mortal Kombat 1’s title). Smoke and Rain also play a role.

A press release stated that Smoke, with his deep ties to Scorpion & Sub-Zero has taken on the mission of his clan and joined his Lin Kuei brethren for Earthrealm’s defense. The trailer gives a glimpse of Rain, the High Mages of Outworld. Rain has turned his water magic skill into a powerful weapon. He now hopes to master the darkest sorcery in the world. 

You may have seen Sektor, Cyrax and Frost as Kameo warriors in other trailers. 

Mortal Kombat 1 is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam & Epic Games Store September 19, 2019.
