Netflix is releasing a new Devil May Cry animated series

Netflix has released the trailer to its announcement. Devil May CryThe Drop 01 Animation Showcase on Wednesday featured a new animation adaptation of Capcom’s popular hack-and-slash series. Adi Shankar is the executive producer (CastlevaniaAlex Larsen is the author.YasukeStudio MIR is known for its previous work, which includes such series as The Legend of Korra, The Boondocks, Young Justice” Harley Quinn.

The trailer itself doesn’t offer much in the way of exposition or explanation, but going off of what little we see, this new adaptation of Devil May Cry will draw heavy inspiration from 2005’s Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s AwakeningThis game is set a decade prior to the events in the original Dante’s Inferno. It follows Dante, a boy who battles against an invasion by demons on Earth. He also crosses swords his brother Vergil.

Devil May CryStudio Madhouse produced a 12 episode anime in 2007.Trigun, One-Punch Man) and directed by Shin Itagaki (2016’s Berserk). This anime took place between the two original films.
