Moss: Book 2 Launch Just Weeks Away

Despite getting a grand reveal in last year’s PlayStation State of Play showcase, developer Polyarc has been almost as quiet as a mouse on the game’s details. The floodgates will soon open. Moss: Book 2 will be available on PSVR, March 31.

The original VR adventure starring the adorable-yet-formidable mouse Quill came out four years ago. The technology of virtual reality has advanced by leaps, and a sequel to this well-received title is a welcomed announcement. This is especially true as we head towards the eventual release of the PSVR2, though Moss: Book 2 is not slated to release on the next-gen hardware. However, there might be news on that front sometime in the coming months.

The preview footage shows the tiny adventurer only moments after the conclusion of the first game. Quill is traveling through a forest outside of the castle that she saved from her uncle. Quill works with the player to overcome many obstacles. Quill has the ability to grow vines which Quill can use for climbing up or crossing chasms. According to the game’s creators, this second chapter, which will include several more hours of content than the first, really leans into the interactions between the heroic rodent and the player, and many new elements will reflect that.

You can also look forward to fresh weapons in the game, including a large – for a mouse – hammer. The Foundry is another area where the hammer can also be found. This place, located underneath the castle, and dominated by stones and pipes, has many uses. With this blunt instrument you can remove obstacles and trigger switches or battle enemies. Polyarc explained that players will be able to pick up various skills and tools throughout the game. This gives them good reasons for retreading previously explored areas.

Although the sequel to virtual reality will be available in just two weeks, there is still something that fans can do before then. Amazon has a limited edition Moss:Book 2 poster. You can get your poster here. The adventure begins on March 31st.
