Monster Hunter Rise, you’ll encounter a slew of new monsters inspired by Japanese folklore, like the flagship Wyvern of Malice, Magnamalo. The iconic, beloved monsters of past titles return to complete the roster, which is sure to put your skill at risk.
Through the game’s story, you’ll travel to the serene Kamura Village, home to everything you’ll need as a hunter. Unite with a colorful cast of characters as you become the village’s foremost hunter, some of which you’ll team up with to face the encroaching Rampage – a catastrophic event where hordes of monsters descend upon the village. You will uncover the secrets behind the Rampage and help the Kamura people to a brighter future.

Monster Hunter Rise introduces several new unique elements to the hunter’s toolkit, with an emphasis on being more maneuverable and agile than ever. Hunters have the ability to fire a specific silk at each weapon with wirebugs. They allow Hunters to quickly zip up and up against walls. Wyvern Riding allows you to temporally transform a monster into an ally, causing havoc.
The familiar Palico Felyne friends are back to lend their support, but this time they’re joined by the new Palamute Canyne companions. They’re a hunter’s best friend with their own set of special abilities, and you’ll be able to ride on Palamute’s back to quickly get around during a hunt. You can even pet them!
Either go it alone or join up to 3 others online to hunt together. You’ll be able to hunt together and continue your progress whether you’re hunting on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, or via the Xbox app for Windows PC.
The game’s launch date of Jan. 20 will include content and event quests from previous title updates. This allows for hours of intense hunting and rewards. This includes a number of fun collaborations quests from other series, where you’ll take on special themed quests to earn gear themed after Street Fighter, OkamiAnd Mega ManThese are just a few examples.

You will find materials for making new weapons, armor, or upgrading your gear from the monsters you have killed. Get out there and hunt harder monsters for even greater rewards. The possibilities of what you can do with your weapon are endless!
To take down the monsters, you can either hunt solo or together
Multiplayer quests are available at The Hunter Hub, where four people can work together to complete the same task. Difficulty scaling ensures that whether you go solo or hit the hunt as a full four-person squad, it’s always a fair fight.
Kamura Village presents an engaging new storyline
This serene locale is inhabited by a colorful cast of villagers who have long lived in fear of the Rampage – a catastrophic event where countless monsters attack the village all at once. This trial will be fought 50 years ago, when the Rampage took place.
Enjoy new hunting activities with the Wirebug
Wirebugs are an integral part of your hunter’s toolkit. Their special silk can be used for zip-ups and other purposes, as well as pulling off specific attacks that are only available to 14 of the weapon types.
The Buddies are available to assist
You will find the new Palamute Canyne pals, who are familiar with your Palico Felyne buddies from past Monster Hunter adventures.
Controlling monsters can cause havoc.
