MLB The Show 23 release date, cover star, and pre-orders announced

The third year of MLB The Show, a cross-platform simulation baseball game, returns to late March. It was developed by Sony San Diego which delivers the series every 15 years. For this year’s cover star, Sony turned to the first Bahamas-born player to make a Major League Baseball All-Star roster.

When will MLB The Show 23 debut?

MLB The Show 23’s release date is March 28. The pre-orders for the movie will be open starting February 6. Major League Baseball’s opening day will be March 30.

Which platforms is MLB The Show 23 available?

MLB The Show 23’s main editions will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, whose buyers will also get downloadable versions of the game for PS4 and Xbox One, respectively.

These versions of PS4 or Xbox One, as well as Nintendo Switch, don’t have the same features. MLB The Show allows cross-platform multiplayer across all platforms.

MLB The Show 23Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have access to the new Xbox One and Xbox Series X games on launch day.

Do you have special editions available of MLB The Show

Monday’s livestream reveal did not mention special editions. The MLB The Show official website lists only the standard editions of the five platforms. Priced at $59.99, the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One versions are available on PS4 or Xbox One. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X version are available for $69.99. These versions include 5 card packs that can be used to create Diamond Dynasty, as well as 10,000 Stubs which is an in-game currency to use in Road to the Show.

MLB The Show also offers digital deluxe editions, which include premium content in-game and an early preview for a 4-day weekend.

What is the Cover of MLB The Show 23 and Who Is It?

Jazz Chisholm (full title: Jasrado Prince Hermis Chisholm Jr.), a 24-year old, Bahamas-born, star for the Miami Marlins is featured on the Cover of MLB The Show 23 For all versions

Chisholm’s first full season came in 2021; in a 2022 season cut in half by injury, Chisholm was selected to the National League All-Star team, though he did not play in that game. After acquiring Luis Arraez, a Minnesota Twins All-Star middle infielder in 2022, from the Marlins on January 20, Chisholm will be moved to the outfield by the Marlins.

Chisholm is also a member of Great Britain’s national baseball team, competing for them in the 2017 World Baseball Classic. Chisholm has now confirmed his participation in the 2023 World Baseball Classic, to be held in Taiwan, Tokyo and Miami on March 8-21, Phoenix.
