Minecraft Legends RTS gets gameplay demo, new details at Minecraft Live
Mojang, Microsoft and Mojang gave Minecraft RTS players an actual look after initially announcing the service last year. Minecraft LegendsAt Minecraft Live 2022 on Saturday. Developers gathered to discuss the game and offered a detailed gameplay demonstration for fans. Microsoft revealed during the presentation that they will allow players to play their game online. Minecraft LegendsIn spring 2023, they will again be available for hire.
A developer interview was conducted to get into the story and general idea of the showcase. Minecraft Legends. Microsoft and Mojang refer to this as an action strategy game. This seems like a lighter twist on the traditional real-time-strategy genre. This is the In Minecraft Legends, you’re going to summon enemies, lead them into battle, point them at enemies, and watch as the two armies rip each other to shreds, just as you would in something like StarCraft.
However, the gameplay demo during the showcase showed off some of the more Minecraft-flavored aspects to the game, which will help differentiate it and — hopefully — make it a bit more accessible.
Minecraft Legends, you’ll gather resources, build structures, and gather armies, but the way you do those things is like playing Minecraft on a large scale, rather than a more traditional RTS. You can also find In LegendsThe game allows you to ride on a beast, and command others to build or gather in an area. In the demo, the player rode up to trees and summoned minions. The workers then collected the resources. The player later used these resources to construct a wooden bridge that would allow them to cross a cave.
This is not a cursor-based interface. They gathered around the avatar of the player and immediately brought down the bridge. This is how the battle interface works. The player summoned their allies through spawners and rode to battle. They used a cursory interface to direct their army towards the enemies in a manner that was more Pikmin than Age of Empires.

During battle, it seems like the player doesn’t have any real combat tools — you can’t ride in there with a sword and hack-and-slash with your friends, it seems. Instead, they used the more resources to create giant arrow towers for their allies.
All of this seems enhanced by the game’s co-op mode. Multiple players sent separate armies to fight the Nether portal, as well as the army of the enemy surrounding it. Once the portal had been cleared, an allied player arrived with one giant unit and helped take down the base.
Minecraft LegendsIt looks familiar enough to RTS veterans. However, it’s got the friendlier look of a Minecraft game that should help it land better with younger kids and those that don’t want to worry about their APM. The question is how complicated? Minecraft Legends Players will have to wait for the official launch of the game in early 2019 before they can obtain it.
