Microsoft Flight Simulator Introduces Local Legend VII, the Cessna 195 Businessliner

As part of World Update XI Canada Microsoft Flight Simulator today released its latest aircraft in the “Local Legends” series of planes. Carenado manufactured the 195 Businessliner. It is a Cessna-American aviation manufacturer’s single-engine, high-wing utility and general aviation aircraft. It is part of a limited family consisting of two aircraft, the 195 and the 190. It was the final Cessna airplane that had a radial-engined engine. The first Cessna aircraft to be made entirely of aluminum construction was the 195. The 195 is a business aircraft with five seats, which includes the pilot.
Cessna’s mid-1930s Airmaster was the inspiration for the creation of the 195. This monoplane had high wings and couldtilever, with an undercarriage. After its maiden flight, the 195 was released in 1947. After quickly gaining a reputation of being reliable, efficient and cost-effective, the 195 was adopted immediately by the United States Army. They named it the LC-126. The Air Force gave it the U-20. From 1947 to 1954, Cessna made the Businessliner. These aircraft can still be flown today, and they are very sought-after due to their sturdy build and solid performance.
It measures in at 27ft, 4ins long, 7ft, 2ins high and 36 feet, 2ins wide. The 195 features standard empennage as well as a traditional fixed undercarriage. The spacious cockpit has polished wood controls. A 7-cylinder, air-cooled Jacobs R-755B-2 Radial Piston Engine produces up to 265 horsepower. The propeller is a Hamilton Standard 2-blade constant speed propeller. The Cessna 195 can travel 633 miles at cruising speed of 170 mph up to 178 mph and has a maximum ceiling of 18300 feet. It also climbs at 1,135 feet/minute.

The Microsoft Flight Simulator Game of the Year (GOTY) Standard Edition celebrates all the positive feedback, reviews and awards garnered, but it is also a “Thank You” to our fans – new and old – that have made Microsoft Flight Simulator such a phenomenon. Microsoft Flight Simulator now features five hand-crafted new aircraft:
• Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet: Our first military jet and a highly requested feature from the community. We will be releasing the Top Gun: Maverick movie with an expansion, but we want simmers to experience the thrill of speed on this holiday.
• VoloCity: We partnered with well-known German company Volocopter, which is working on an eVTOL called “VoloCity”, a vision for an urban air taxi. To create an accurate replica of the aircraft prototype for the simulator, we worked closely with Volocopter’s engineering team. This prototype aircraft can make precise landings. The sim will soon launch helicopters.
• Pilatus PC-6 Porter: This legendary short takeoff and landing (STOL) utility aircraft is a highly versatile plane from Switzerland and comes with several cockpits, cabins, and landing gear variations. This aircraft is the product of close cooperation with the manufacturer. The development effort by Hans Hartmann (developer) and Alexander Metzger (developer) resulted into a unique and enjoyable new aircraft that has exceptional capabilities in the simulator.
• CubCrafters NX Cub: Yakima-based CubCrafters recently introduced a nosewheel option for their flagship CC-19 XCub Aircraft, popularly called the NX Cub, which we are pleased to introduce to the flight sim audience to further enhance our bush flying and off airport options.
• Aviat Pitts Special S1S: One of our most popular planes gets a single-seat option with the release of this aircraft.

New Missions-Based on the success of Discovery Flights we have added six additional locations to the series (Helsinki and Freiburg im Breisgau), Mecca, Monument Valleys, Singapore, Mount Cook, and Mecca).
New Tutorials – To further expand the onboarding experience, we are adding 14 new tutorials, introducing simmers to Bush flying (in an Icon A5) and IFR (in a Cessna 172).
New Features – We are also pleased to introduce several highly requested features by the community: an updated weather system, early access to DX12, and a dev mode replay system.
New Photogrammetry Cities – As part of our ongoing collaboration with Bing Maps, we are pleased to add a number of new photogrammetry cities: Helsinki (Finland), Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany), Brighton, Derby, Eastbourne, Newcastle, and Nottingham (UK) and Utrecht (Netherlands).
