Microsoft alerts Minecraft Java users to security risk

You can play Java Version of Minecraft, you’re going to want to update it immediately.

That’s because Microsoft warned players on Friday of a serious security risk in the game. The “vulnerability poses a potential risk of your computer being compromised,” according to a post on the Minecraft blog, due to “an exploit within Log4j — a common Java logging library.”

This issue was fixed in all game clients, however players must immediately upgrade the game to ensure their computers and servers are protected.

Sometimes, the player just needs to restart the game in order for the update to download. The instructions for other cases, such as when players have their own game servers, are much more thorough. You can find the instructions on how to fix it on this page Minecraft blog.

Popular building game MinecraftThere are two versions of, Java and Bedrock. You can play either the Bedrock or Java version on your mobile device. Linux, macOS and Windows PC users can choose between them. The Java version, in general, is intended for those who are more serious and want to modify the game.
