Metal: Hellsinger Adds New Weapon Skins And Difficulty Setting, Launches On PS4 And Xbox One Today

Metal: Hellsinger was a mix of Doom and rhythm games when it first launched in September. With the sound of high-pitched vocals and crunchy guitar riffs, we loved taking down Hell’s worst demons. Today, developer The Outsiders and publisher Funcom have announced a wave of news, including a sales milestone, a new free title update, and the launch of the game on last-generation consoles.

Metal: Hellsinger, available now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, is also currently in development. Metal: Hellsinger was initially announced on these platforms in 2020. However, the final-generation versions of the game were eventually cancelled. Owners of the last-gen consoles now have full access to this adventure that features demon-slashing action and beast blasting.

A new 1.5 patch was also released by the studio, adding a new difficulty, Archdevil. It also includes new weapons skins and combinations. Archdevil rises up to the top in Metal: Hellsinger’s difficulty hierarchy, surpassing the pre-existing settings: Lamb Goat, Beast, and Beast. Archdevil is a difficulty that will allow players to face demons stronger and has no last recourse. In addition to the new difficulty level, there will also be a new Elite Seraph.

To aid players in these new challenges, the developer introduced new combos through the 1.5 title update, and performing certain actions on consecutive beats grant additional fury and higher scores. Players will find new reasons to play The Outsiders, with one secret Coat of Arms available at every difficulty level. New weapon skins can be unlocked once enough are collected.

The Outsiders also included an in-game digital art book to commemorate the milestone of 1,000,000 players. Below is one example of the concept art found in that digital book.

Metal: Hellsinger is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The title is included in your Xbox Game Pass subscription. You can learn more about the rhythmic shooter in our review from back in September.
