Metal Gear Solid Producer Says 2023 Will Be ‘A Year Of Many Announcements’
Hideo Kojima, Death Stranding’s director and Metal Gear Solid creator, and Konami, Metal Gear Solid publisher parted ways in 2015. Since then there haven’t been any mainline entries in the fabled MGS series. (Except for the 2018 Metal Gear Survive).

This special issue is the end-of-the year edition of FamitsuNumerous Japanese producers and developers wrote teases about the possibilities for 2023. Okamura said that Konami Digital Entertainment will make announcements in 2023. He said, “Other than.” [the educational edition of Momotaro Dentetsu announced last year]”2023 will see many announcements in the year,” and that his wording for 2023 was “long-awaited,” has been noted by Gematsu.
It could simply be Okamura saying Konami as a company will make announcements, and maybe some of those will be eagerly awaited. However, given that it’s Okamura – a longtime MGS producer – saying this, there’s reason to believe that maybe he’s teasing a return to the MGS series. Maybe we will see a remake of one or more of these games. It will be interesting to see what happens.
