Megan Fox and MGK’s Zelda and Link cosplay really went for it

Link may be Hyrule’s hero, but celebrities can still dress up in the role of the iconic videogame hero.

Megan Fox posted photos from a photoshoot for Halloween with Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) on Thursday. The costume set was a little more geeky, with the pair dressing up as Zelda (from The Legend of Zelda) and Link (from The Legend of Zelda). They look stunning, as usual, though the costumes are lackluster when compared to some of the fabulous cosplay I’m used to seeing on a regular basis.

Megan was dressed in a corset, and a floor-length, ornamented skirt with long slits. It featured the Triforce symbol. Her thigh-high, lace up golden heels peeked through the slits, and her hair was blonde for the occasion, styled to look like it’s blowing the wind.

MGK’s take on Link, on the other hand, was a little less fancy, and looked more like a mashup of everyday clothes. MGK was wearing distressed gray denim trousers and a hoodie under his tunic. He also didn’t wield the Master Sword, but instead carried something that looks more like a giant knife. Perhaps he wanted a casual version of Link like that from A. Links to the Past?

This is a moment when celebrities’ costumes are at their best. Hot nerds have had a great Halloween in 2022. Megan Thee Stallion stunned all anime enthusiasts with her Mirko costume. My Hero Academia. Doja Cat dressed up in the role of the first villager from 2001’s Game Cube to speak to Animal Crossing veterans. All of them set high standards. This includes costumes that are not for video games, such as Heidi Klum’s bulbous worm outfit.

It’s funny, and the photoshoot and cosplay are fitting for the couple whose lives revolve around their eccentricities. One time Fox said that they “consume each other’s blood on occasion for ritual purposes.” Also the two seem to be supportive of each other’s nerdier sides. Megan Fox’s favorite movie of all time is Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban. On top of all that, MGK’s track “Daywalker!” literally features a verse from the streamer and singer CorpseHusband and its music video stars streamer Valkyrae.
