Overwatch 2 - Kiriko

The balance of old and new

Kiriko is a Kanezaka native who grew up with her family, which has preserved the shrine since its inception. Her grandmother and her mother were her parents, who instilled important values into her young life. The Kanezaka shrine, the fox spirit and how to respect the past were some of the things that her grandmother instilled in her. She was raised by a strong ninja mother who taught her fan favorites Genji and Hanzo. Kiriko learned to protect and defend her community by training alongside them.

Fans should pay attention to her voice overs in the game. She is a natural trickster. She’s not one to shy away, taking a jab at anyone with her dry and witty humor.

Kiriko adds a youthful and balanced perspective to Overwatch. While she respects the past, she also understands how to adapt and thrive in today’s world. Fiercely loyal, she’s not afraid to go against the grain to protect her city and those she loves.

The Kit Designed with All Players In Mind

Kiriko’s wit shines through in her kit, with most of her abilities based in her intelligence and her ability to read others and assess their actions.

Kiriko’s initial idea was to develop a dual-death/support hero who could help her team with both gentle healing and deadly precision. This ability kit was rewarding for players who can master precision while being easy to use for beginners who need a quick healing option.

Let the Kitsune guide you as we dive deeper into Kiriko’s abilities below.|

Overwatch 2 - Kiriko

Primary – Healing Ofuda

Kiriko can use Ofudas to help her team, firing up to ten talismans per turn. The charms have a single healing target and are easy to use. They also bring back the peace that Kiriko was taught by her grandmother, Kanezaka Shrine. Distance is an important consideration. Players need to keep in mind that the Ofudas will travel further away than you to heal.

Secondary – Kunai

Kiriko’s secondary showcases what she learned from her mother. Kunai, small knives she uses to throw one at a while, are her Kunai. Although her Kunai are low in overall damage, they can cause more critical damage.

Passive – Wall Climb

Learning beside Genji and Hanzo, it’s only natural that Kiriko picked up the Wall Climb. Kiriko can now scale walls. This makes it easier to use her ability to walk around the map and offer healing to teammates, or to carry a knife to enemies.

Quick Step

To help allies within an agreed distance of one another, Kiriko can use Swift Step (even over walls) to teleport to them. To move, the players must lock on to a target.

Protection Suzu

Protection Suzu, a bell-shaped projectile of small size that temporarily invulnerables allies and removes any negative status effects is available. The Protection Suzu activates when it strikes an ally or the ground, providing protection for all allies in a limited area. Kiriko may even be able to benefit from the protection suzu by throwing it at her feet.

Ultimate – Kitsune Rush

Follow the Kitsune! When activated, Kiriko’s ultimate summons her loyal fox spirit who rushes forward, creating a path of torii gateways in its wake. The ultimate grants Kiriko and her comrades a temporary boost and speed up on all actions. This includes movement and fire rate, as well as cool downs and cooldowns.
